An open-top container is a specialized container designed for carrying extra-high cargo. Its most distinctive feature is a removable soft top (canvas top) supported by bowed steel beams, or a fully retractable hard top. Cargo is typically hoisted in from the top by a crane, greatly facilitating the loading of heavy goods, machinery, and other equipment that cannot be loaded through standard container doors. Internal lashing points are often included for easy lashing, making it a classic solution for addressing cargo height restrictions.
